SUV crashes through NWA photography studio for babies

PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO. 40/29S REAGAN HUBBARD REPORTS FROM LOWELL. THE DAY STARTED AT FOOTSTEPS PHOTOGRAPHY ON WEST MONROE AVENUE WITH AN SUV PLOWING THROUGH THE BRICK BUILDING. THE SUV TRAVELED 30 FEET THROUGH THE PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO.. AN EYEWITNESS WHO WAS WORKING ACROSS THE STREET AT THE TIME HEARD WHAT HE SAID SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION. SOT> Chris Johnson, Eyewitness “We went over there, saw that there was a car inside with the lights flashing, so I went inside to see if they were okay, and the tires were just spinning. He had his foot on the gas. I couldn’t get the door open, had to come back out because there was so much smoke.” CHRIS JOHNSON SAYS THE DRIVER HAD A YOUNG CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. HE SAYS THEY BOTH APPEARED TO BE OKAY. SOT> Chris Johnson, Eyewitness “He was obviously pretty shaken up. Hopefully the little girl is okay, the way the fireman carried her out, I think she’s okay.” THE OWNER OF THE STUDIO, AMANDA WEBB, SAYS SHE LEASES THE STOREFRONT FOR HER NEWBORN AND MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS. SUV crashes through Arkansas photography studio for infants

A driver crashed through the wall of a photography studio for newborns in Lowell Tuesday morning.The Ford Escape went into the Footsteps Photography studio just before 8 a.m. Amanda Webb, who owns the studio, said that if the crash had come just a couple of hours later, there would have been babies posing against the very wall the driver destroyed.Chris Johnson was parked across the street when he heard what sounded like an explosion.Get the latest news stories of interest by clicking here.When he saw the SUV through the hole in the wall of the studio, he ran inside.”Tires had popped but they were still spinning,” Johnson said. “I just started beating on the windows to see if I could get anybody to holler out but nobody did.”Johnson tried to pry the door open but wasn’t able to.A fire broke out and filled the room with smoke, forcing him to leave after about three minutes.>> Download the 40/29 News AppEmergency workers came on the scene and pried the doors open.Johnson saw firefighters carry out a young child, who appeared conscious. Amanda Webb, who owns the studio, said that if the crash had come just a couple of hours later, there would have been babies posing against the very wall the driver destroyed.

Chris Johnson was parked across the street when he heard what sounded like an explosion.

“Tires had popped but they were still spinning,” Johnson said. “I just started beating on the windows to see if I could get anybody to holler out but nobody did.”

Johnson tried to pry the door open but wasn’t able to.
