YOU have been sending us more photos capturing the achievements of entrants at this year’s Isle of Wight Music, Dance and Drama Festival (IWMDDF).

The County Press has received a fantastic response this year, and we are aiming to include as many submissions as we can, and are doing regular stories – keep an eye on our website for more!

Coming away with two wins, this year was Millie Blake’s first time competing in IWMDDF.

She came first in novice 14-16 Disney song, singing ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid, scoring 85 marks, and also won the novice rock/pop solo 14-18 years class, scoring 88 marks.

Sam Sutherland Nash Smith received a distinction in the classical guitar grade 4-5 class and the classical guitar 14-18 years.

Ava Cowan came away with three wins at this year’s festival, securing a first in Disney solo 14-16 years, jazz solo 14-16 years and film/TV solo 14-16 years.

Josie Flack and Lottie Paine were delighted to win the Woodland Farm Shield for the 14-18 years music theatre song duo.

It is the fourth time the girls have won the musical theatre duo category, and both say they are very grateful to their teacher Polly MacGregor.

Josie and Lottie also came second in the pop duo singing with a version of ‘Traitor’ by Olivia Rodrigo.

Gabriel Elson achieved a distinction with a mark of 89, as he won the violin beginner category.

He played ‘Humoresque’ by Dvorak and was praised for his confident tone and musical phrasing.

Alfie Luke came first in the musical theatre solo 14-18 years class, with his performance of ‘Mr Cellophane’ from the hit musical Chicago.

Caleb Zinnes, a student at Ryde School with Upper Chine, won the Challenge Cup for his grade 7-8 piano recital, earning 87 marks.
